The REBEL ALLIANCE has destroyed the Empire's dreaded DEATH STAR, but the galaxy remains convulsed by civil war, and the Imperial starfleet is hunting the rebels throughout the galaxy.
LUKE SKYWALKER, the pilot who destroyed the Death Star, is now hailed as a hero. But Luke seeks only to support the freedom fighters, serving the Rebellion behind the controls of his X-wing fighter.
Even as he flies alongside the pilots of Red Squadron, Luke feels stirrings in the mystical energy field known as the Force. And this farm boy turned fighter pilot begins to suspect his destiny lies along a different path....
The main reason I was so eager to delve into this book was because of a certain alien we only see very briefly in The Force Awakens. I won't spoil his name here, but he was definitely an interesting creature and frightening all at the same time. O.o I'm starting to think this statement is true for the most part. Never trust someone in robes.
And of course, Luke Skywalker is the main protagonist and is joined on his adventure with none other than his trusty droids, R2-D2 and C-3P0. They were all in character, especially C-3P0. He had me rolling a few times. I was a little worried they might not be in character as this is written by a different author. But Fry did these memorable characters justice, and I LOVE his writing style. It's fast-paced yet poetic. And his details are up to par. I could see everything like I was really there sharing this adventure with Luke. It was thrilling, and I couldn't put the book down until i finished it. It's a relatively short novel, but it's well worth what I spent for it.
I gave it a five out of five star rating and highly recommend this to Star Wars lovers.
